The DAF Trucks National Dealer Apprentice Programme is a modern apprenticeship scheme - a challenging 3 year program that combines hands-on workshop training with block release for college training and study.
You’ll be employed at a Ford & Slater dealership where you will work alongside qualified technicians, learning from their experience and developing the ability to work both on your own and as part of a team. Alongside other DAF Trucks Apprentices from around the country you will be specially trained on DAF vehicles in all aspects of truck servicing, repair and maintenance.
With full time specialist instructors and dedicated workshop facilities this aspect of the apprenticeship is regarded as the best in the industry. After 3 years, you will leave City of Bristol College with an Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair which comprises NVQ Levels 2 and 3 plus a BTEC National Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering.
Attendance at City of Bristol College is usually in 2 week blocks and, whilst there, you will stay in approved accommodation with local families. All of your study costs, fares, accommodation and living expenses are paid for.
To become a DAF Trucks apprentice you must have a genuine interest in things mechanical and meet an acceptable academic standard – the preference being a minimum of 3 GCSE’s, Grade C or above. The age limit for new entrants is generally 16-19 years but we will consider older applicants.
