Ford & Slater Leicester team helps Leicestershire Cares

A 25-strong team from Ford & Slater Leicester gave up two days last week to clear an overgrown patch of land at Danehill Primary school, Enderby.
The team was challenged to clear the area by charity Leicestershire Cares. Challenge team leader Jackie Penney said the back-breaking work left the team shattered but it had been a rewarding experience.
Jackie said” It was a massive undertaking. There was a huge area at the back of the school playing fields that was completely overrun with brambles. We completely cleared it over 2 days. The school wants to turn it into a wildlife area for the children. The feeling when we finished, apart from being shattered, was a real feeling of pride and achievement. It has been a great couple of days.”
