Ford & Slater Ford & Slater, DAF European Dealer of the Year 2020, are looking for the next generation of DAF Technicians to join our award winning programme. The DAF Apprentice Programme gives you the chance to join the select group of specialist Technicians and Advisors working on some of the most modern, sophisticated trucks on the road. The programme provides an opportunity to enter a rapidly evolving, exciting industry with huge career potential and Ford & Slater have 12 dealerships across the East Midlands and East Anglia to choose from.

Applicants must:

· Be at least 16 years of age and not in full-time education

· Have Maths & English Grade 4-9 or equivalent (A-C)

· Complete an online assessment and an initial assessment with a Skills Coach

In return, you will:

· Be employed by Ford & Slater (a DAF dealer) from day 1 and paid a wage

· Regularly attend the DAF Apprentice College

· Meet and work with fellow Apprentices throughout the UK during your college block

· Have a dedicated Skills Coach and Apprentice mentor on hand with regular visits to your workplace

The role:

· You will be required to complete online training modules and demonstrate the motivation and commitment required to combine practical training with theory based learning.

· To work alongside experienced members of the parts department who will be dealing with all aspects of the parts function to learn and understand more about the department as a whole.

· Adhere to all health and safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping standards.

· Establish a good working relationship with colleagues and customers, ensuring that their needs are met.

Trainee Service Advisor Apprentice

Main areas of responsibility:

  • To work as part of a team delivering a first class, professional customer service ensuring that where possible customer enquiries, payments and complaints are resolved at the first point of contact.
  • To greet customers in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.
  • To work within established procedures for each service request including logging, processing and progress chasing enquiries, adhering to service level agreements and quality standards to maximise customer satisfaction.
  • To maintain electronic and written records of letters and forms received, information given, services requested and complaints made, to ensure accuracy of information and efficiency when dealing with customers.

Key Competencies Required:

  • Communication – The ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. Always listens effectively and asks questions to ensure full understanding.
  • Teamwork – Works with others to build positive relationships in order to achieve a common goal. Provides and requests support from colleagues where applicable.
  • Customer Focus – Clearly understands customer’s needs and delivers effective solutions to match these needs. Effectively resolves customer issues as required and presents a positive image of the company to the customer.
  • Attention to Detail – Monitors the quality of own work and plans and organises time and resources efficiently in order to provides information on a timely basis and in a usable form to others who need to act on it. Double-checks the accuracy of information to provide accurate and consistent work. Completes all work in line with procedures and standards.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability - Have a flexible approach to work commitments and the ability to adapt behaviour and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions or unexpected obstacles whilst maintaining effectiveness.

You will receive a Business Administrator Level 3 qualification at the end of this apprenticeship
