The DAF Apprentice Programme
The DAF Trucks National Dealer Apprentice Programme is a three year, government approved scheme, which gives young people the necessary training and hands-on experience needed to become a fully qualified HGV Technician.
About the course
The award-winning programme gives you the chance to work on some of the most modern and sophisticated trucks on the road. Practical skills and hands-on experience are gained working alongside qualified technicians in fully equipped, state-of-the-art workshops.
Additional training and knowledge comes from DAF Trucks’ Centre of Learning at the City of Bristol College, where apprentices attend for a total of 28 weeks across the three years, completed in two-week blocks.
At the end of the three years, apprentices will become fully qualified HGV Technicians, with an Advanced Apprenticeship in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Repair, including a VCQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Some applicants may be invited to continue their learning by completing an IMI Level 4 management course at Bristol College.
How to apply
Applicants must be aged 16 and over, with a minimum of three GCSEs or equivalent at grace C or above. Suitable applicants will be invited for a chat and to take a standard entry test, to give us an idea of whether you are the right candidate for the job.
More information on our programme can be found by downloading our DAF Apprentice brochure, or by contacting Group Apprenticeship Coordinator, Lee Sursham, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 07710165093.
