Longstanding Ford & Slater customer, GE-BE Transport Ltd, has recently taken delivery of four new DAF FAR CF 340s from our Kings Lynn dealership.
The 6x2 rear lift curtain sider trucks were purchased by the haulage and logistics experts specifically for the transportation and delivery of industrial coldrooms, required as part of a new contract.
General Manager for GE-BE, Jay Goldspink, explains, “We replenish our fleet every five years or so, but towards the end of last year GE-BE won a large contract which required investment in new vehicles. The CFs were mainly chosen for the weight they could carry and Ford & Slater were able to arrange for Moffett lifts to be installed prior to delivery, meaning our trucks were job-ready on arrival.”
GE-BE has a mixed fleet of around 54 trucks and 75 trailers, of which 40 are DAF trucks purchased through Ford & Slater. The two companies have worked together since GE-BE was founded in 1982 and share a great working relationship.
Jay Goldspink adds, “Our director is a DAF man through and through, so Ford & Slater is always at the top of our list. We have always been very happy with the trucks, the service and maintenance, and the convenient location of their Kings Lynn dealership.“
